Hello from Walker, Minnesota, and welcome to our new Website!
We are excited to be celebrating 20 years in the used book business in this little “City on the Bay” of beautiful Leech Lake in Northern Minnesota’s vacation country. We welcome area and visiting readers to our bookstore located on Minnesota Avenue, Walker’s main street.
We have well over 50,000 books. Our showroom displays a little more than 15,000, and our
three storage rooms hold the rest on genre and alphabetized shelving. Don’t forget our thriller
and horror comics; unread and always on sale!
As a Paperback Exchange/Used Bookstore, we take pride in our neat, clean presentation, with the books author-alphabetized in each section. Our used paperbacks are half off the
original price, with Trade Credits at 70% off. We accept paperbacks for credits only if they
are in best-to-excellent condition. Link onto Trade Credits and learn how to save on your purchases.
Area Authors - Glance to your right as you enter the store - see the wall pockets full of books? We purchase directly from our Area Authors, and do ask for autographs from them. Some Area Authors have been nominated for or have won awards for their superb novels and have now made it to the “big box” bookstores.
Our Apple Seeds Newsletters alert you to author/book news, as well as fun and interesting everyday happenings. We include favorite reader and author websites, and share our customer book recommendations. Looking for an earlier article or website listing from Apple Seeds?
Just link onto and page through the prior Newsletters.
Glance to the right as you enter the store. See the wall pockets full of books?
They are our pride and joy, and almost all of them are autographed by our area authors.
Several of the authors have now made it to the "big box" bookstores.
I myself was one of the three authors of the Walker on Leech Lake Centennial Book and one of the four of the Cass County Heritage Book.
The excitement we felt at unloading a semi full of our books just cannot be explained.
